Evening at Hermitage Nevis: guests gathered at long tables on the lit gingerbread verandah of the Great House, with more tables set out under the trees on the lawn

Gather at Hermitage

A home with all the advantages of a hotel

Hermitage began as a family home, and that has guided its growth as a hotel. Rooms, cottages and villas give everyone somewhere of their own, while the sitting rooms of the Great House, the verandahs, gardens and pool give people places to come together.

Over the years, we have watched honeymooners return with their children, then bring friends and other family. Hermitage is an easy place to be together with the people you care about. It has the rooms, kitchens, staff and practical help of a hotel, but the pleasure of being in a private country home in the Caribbean.

The Days Have a Way of Unfolding

People bring good energy here, and it has a way of carrying the day along with it. We have seen impromptu expeditions turn into mountain climbs and beach picnics, and evenings become something nobody had planned when they woke up that morning. If the walls could talk, they would tell tales of parlour games and sing-alongs, conversations and stories that lasted until dawn.

A Cupboard with a Story

There is even an antique glass cupboard where guests leave special bottles of rare spirits they have brought to share — something for friends at the table, and sometimes for those who come after them.

Why Gatherings Work Here

Everyone Has Somewhere of Their Own

Rooms, cottages and villas mean family and friends can stay close while still having privacy and space of their own.

There Are Natural Places to Come Together

The sitting rooms of the Great House, the verandahs, gardens, pool and dining table give the group somewhere to gather throughout the day.

Food Becomes Part of the Occasion

Breakfast on the verandah, lunch in the garden, family-style dinners, Garden Parties and candlelit evenings can all become part of the time you spend together.

The Days Can Unfold Naturally

Some plans are made well in advance; others begin over breakfast. A beach picnic, a walk through the village, a mountain climb or an afternoon by the pool can all become part of the stay.

We Help Make It Work

We can help with rooms, meals, transport, car rentals, music, island activities and all the little things that make for a big event.

Gatherings of All Kinds

Hermitage works for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, family reunions, weekends with friends, honeymoons, or simply a few days away together.

Some gatherings are carefully planned around a particular occasion. Others are much looser — a few rooms booked, a table reserved, cars arranged, and the rest allowed to take shape as the days go by.

Planning a wedding?

Weddings have their own rhythm and their own practical questions — ceremonies, settings, music, dinner, accommodation and the shape of the day.

Tell Us What You Have in Mind

Every gathering is different. Tell us who is coming, roughly when, and what sort of time you would like to have together, and we can help you think through rooms, meals and the practical details.

An enquiry does not confirm availability. Tell us who is coming, roughly when, and the kind of time you would like to have together. Approximate details are fine — nothing here is fixed.

About your gathering

An approximate or provisional date is fine. If you are still deciding, tick “Our dates are flexible”.

An estimate is fine. This helps us understand the shape of the gathering; it does not reserve any space.

Your details

A sentence or two is plenty — who is coming, roughly when, and what sort of time you would like to have together.

An enquiry is not a booking or a confirmed date. We will read your message and reply personally.
