Above the Treetops
Rose Villa sits about 150 yards uphill from the Great House, with its own private driveway and views south across the countryside to the sea. The upstairs verandah sits just above the treetops — high enough that the monkeys sometimes pass below you rather than overhead.
Around the house, mature trees give plenty of shade, while the pool garden has sunny corners too.
Room to Spread Out
Two king bedrooms are upstairs and two double bedrooms are downstairs, all with ensuite bathrooms. There is an additional full bathroom downstairs, two sitting rooms, a full kitchen and a large laundry room.
The upstairs sitting room has two generous sofas and opens onto the broad verandah. Downstairs, another sitting room has two sofas — one converting to an additional bed — and a television.
Rose is a modern house built in a classical Caribbean style, with generous proportions, spacious bathrooms with tubs, and the indoor-outdoor living that comes naturally with wide verandahs and open windows.
The Pool and Garden
The private pool is tucked into the west garden beneath one of the bedroom balconies, with shade from the surrounding trees and sunny places around the terrace.
On the east side of the house, a large ficus tree with long vines hanging from its branches gives that part of the garden a character of its own.

Afternoon refreshment is an important tradition too, so around 5pm we like to offer our guests tea, coffee or a little rum punch in the Great House — just about the time the monkeys tend to pass through the garden.

Rose Villa gives you the space and privacy of your own house and pool, while still being part of Hermitage. Weekly housekeeping, complimentary Wi-Fi, drinking water, pool towels and use of the restaurant, bar and tennis court are all part of the stay. Additional housekeeping can be arranged, and the Hermitage team is close at hand if you need a taxi, car rental, help planning a day out, or another practical detail taken care of.

Is the pool really private?
Yes. The pool is for the exclusive use of Rose Villa guests.
How many guests can stay?
Up to eight comfortably. There is also a sofa bed downstairs that can provide a little additional flexibility by arrangement.
Is the villa suitable for children?
Yes. Rose Villa works particularly well for families, with bedrooms on both floors, plenty of living space, a garden and private pool. A cot or crib can also be provided on request at no charge.
Is there air conditioning?
No. Hermitage is designed around fresh air and the natural hillside breeze, with screened windows, ceiling fans and floor fans throughout.
Can we cook at the villa?
Yes. Rose Villa has a full kitchen with everything you need for everyday cooking. If you would like daily breakfast at the Great House included as part of your stay, just let us know when you book.
How often is housekeeping provided?
Housekeeping is provided once a week. Additional housekeeping can be arranged if you would like more frequent service.
