A small, family-run inn, with a mission to share this beautiful island, her people, history and culture, The Hermitage offers, with a pinch of quirk, gracious hospitality in an elegant, unpretentious and charming setting. We maximize the use of Nevis foods, produce, traditions and history to the benefit of our guests and our community.

A little about us
Richard and Maureen Lupinacci, with their four children, made Hermitage their home in 1971. They restored the ancient great house and built additional rooms and cottages.
Richie and Annie Lupinacci, with their children, now carry one the tradition, repeating what Maureen always told her guests: “This is our home, and your home while you are on Nevis.”
Where is the Hermitage?
We are 800 feet above sea-level at the foot of the rain-forest covered mountain. Hermitage is located between the two parishes known as Gingerland and Figtree. Our location gives us the advantage of cool mountain breezes and country-side views.
Nothing on Nevis is far away; it’s just four miles from the mountain to the sea.
Weddings and Special Events
Intimate weddings, simple elopements and family affairs; we can make the arrangements and set the stage in our gardens, or in the historic Great House, lending a West Indian flare to that special day.
The small and intimate nature of this hotel makes it a wonderful place for friends and families to celebrate, to sit together over meals, to spend time and make memories.
