A Unique Hotel on Nevis
The Hermitage is more than a hotel in the Caribbean, it is the oldest wooden house on the quiet island of Nevis.
A history of 350 years makes the Hermitage one of the most unique hotels on Nevis. Originally built as a plantation home, it evolved into an island inn which over the years became one of leading hotels on Nevis.
Writers, journalists and guests call us one of the most unique hotels in the Caribbean.
Hermitage is like a little village. The center-piece is the ca. 1670 Great-house with its colonial furnishings. It’s more than just a hotel on Nevis, it’s a way of life. A unique, boutique, family-run inn, with a mission to share the delights and magic of this beautiful island, her people, history and culture, while offering, with a pinch of quirk, gracious hospitality in an elegant, unpretentious and charming setting.
“You may have a lot of work to do and a busy schedule. We don’t.
Come and join us.”
Charming hotel rooms and Gingerbread cottages offer traditional, old world, comforts; large four poster canopy beds and antiques. Onsite amenities include a pool, sun terrace, tennis court, scenic walks, friendly staff and attentive service. Room rates include complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea.
Herbs and spices are harvested fresh from the garden, farmers bring their produce directly to the kitchen, and the fish is delivered dripping wet, fresh from the sea. The kitchen creates dishes that become known on Nevis as Hermitage specialities.
